the people: the lambourne family ~ laguna beach, ca

I was an only child growing up…until I turned 8 years old. I was always in the limelight of my parents’ basking glow of adoration and then my brother came along…and I had to learn how to share. I never really mastered that etiquette and when I reached adulthood, I forsook that social grace altogether.

So, I cannot even begin to imagine sharing with 4 other siblings. The Lambourne family drove all the way out from Utah so I could take their picture. No seriously they did. Okay fine, they planned a vacation around it too, but we all know the REAL reason they came out here…

Ranging from 2 months old to eight years old, I could immediately see their individual personalities and the togetherness they shared…and I found a little piece of myself a bit envious, but I still don’t share, so don’t ask.

The Lambourne’s have their own photography business as well out in Utah and it’s always very nerve wracking to shoot another photographer. Go check out Alysha’s site by clicking HERE.

Mon and Dad had not had their picture taken together since they got married…so I had to remedy that.

the people: sarah & mark ~ trash the dress

“After this I’m letting myself go and getting fat, ” she says with a twinkle in her eye. He looks at her in mock horror, “That was NOT the deal.” After three years of marriage, Sarah and Mark still act like newlyweds, playfully teasing each other and full of love and laughter.

Still able to fit in her size 0 wedding dress, with near perfect skin (she’s an esthetician) and gorgeous features, I knew I wanted to get Sarah in front of my camera. And thankfully she loved the trash the dress idea. It also doesn’t hurt that not only do Sarah and Mark look like models, they are natural models in front of the camera, too.

For those of you who don’t know, a “trash the dress” session is where you put on your wedding dress and have some fun – not caring if we dirty it up a bit and ignoring the surprised/confused/amused looks of the dry cleaners when you bring in a sand covered, salt water-fied wedding dress. This was my first TTD session and it was so much fun. If any of you ladies want to do trash your dress, let’s get creative and do it!

You’ve seen this one before, but it’s my favorite EVER.
