Amidst the hustle and bustle of hair, makeup and dresses, she sits and waits. Looking serene, she helps her bridesmaids with makeup, admires her newly delivered flowers and promising me everyone will be ready on time. Today is the day she will marry the man of her dreams, her best friend and running partner. And she waits.
Somewhere across town, he waits. Waiting for her to be tucked back into her hotel room as to not accidentally see her before the first notes of “The Wedding March.” Waiting to join her at the end of the aisle and put that ring on her finger. As he arrives to the hotel, the groomsmen spot by the water, bright green dresses surrounding a girl in white. They make him turn away so he won’t see the woman who will become his wife in a few short hours. And he waits.
And then the time comes and there they stand, in front of family and friends, and joyfully pledge their love for each other. Just before they dance the night away, in the ballroom at the Island Palms Hotel and Marina, he stops and plays her a song on his guitar, holds her close and they are ready to start the best marathon of their lives, together.
Katy & Wes, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day. I hope you had a great time in Hawaii!
Details, details:

I’ve known Katy since high school and no fair, she looks as gorgeous today as she did back then!

While waiting for the guys, a couple drove up in a yellow Go Car, which they kindly let us use for a few shots.

The “Special Moment”: one of the groomsmen gives Wes a ring, but promptly drops it. Love the look on his face of utter dejection.
Then this seagull threw a fish at me. Seriously. Job hazard.

Love this moment.

A very special thank you to my second shooter, Michelle, the best “pose-r” I know!
