I have the BEST clients EVER!

2010 has been a GREAT year so far. I’m excited to see what’s going to happen. I had my first speaking engagement last week (photos to come), I’m going to be auctioned off as a Thirst Relief Mentor and the next SoCal PhotogShootout event sold out in 2 minutes.  But I am MOSTLY thrilled about the people I get to work with this year.

Nearly all of my 2010 brides have found me and booked me before they’ve met me. In fact, I’ve booked more brides for this year through email than ones I’ve actually sat down and consulted with! (Uh oh…what does that say about me in person?! LOL!)

Even better, as soon as I met them (all) for their engagement session, they were all gorgeous and fabulous and fun! I know right?! You’re thinking NO FAIR. Don’t be jealous.

One of my amazing 2010 brides is a blogger herself and she’s responsible for my pictures ending up all over the Internet! LOVE IT! She made me cry when I read this.

Thank you so much, Nellie, for your kind words. You’re the best!

Speaking of selling out the next SoCal PhotogShootout event, if you want a ticket, Sunday Evening might be a good day to visit this ol’ blog. You’ll be putting your poem writing/song writing skills to the test.

the weddings: kat & daniel ~ uss midway & the prado, san diego

Their story is simple. They’ve known each other forever (17 years). They started dating. They knew they were going to get married and started planning.

Their intimate wedding was brilliantly orchestrated in one day and after many months, wracking up airline miles to see each other while Daniel was in flight school, the day was finally executed perfectly, without a hitch, exactly as planned. Surrounded by close family and friends, Daniel and Kat proclaimed their love, exchanged their vows and announced the joyful and bittersweet news of Daniel’s new job. He will be deployed for a few months but will ultimately be close to family and friends.

My husband has known Daniel since high school and we’ve come to know and love Kat in the past few years. Congratulations to both of you. Thank you for being amazing friends!

Kat’s mom lovingly made her dress and stitched a little message on the hem:

Kat and Daniel opted for a “First Look” so we had plenty of time to stop by some San Diego locations to shoot:

After the ceremony, we moved onto a fabulous reception at The Prado at Balboa Park:

This is one of my favorite wedding moments. During the Father-Daughter Dance, Kat’s father, battling cancer for the second time whispered, “I’ll still love you even when I’m gone.” Trying to hide my tears behind my camera, I knew this was a defining moment in my career–an affirmation that this is what I was meant to do. I am happy to report that Kat’s father received a clean bill of health a week after the wedding!
