A few months ago, I was shooting a wedding at the Mission Inn with my friend Paul and he mentioned having me take a few shots of him and his adorable girlfriend, Brooklyn.
Total shooting time was about ten minutes.
I LOVE weddings. Happy, gorgeous people. Fabulous clothes. Yummy food and CAKE! What’s not to love?
I LOVE shooting weddings. The fast pace. The details. The creativity – as every wedding is different and fun. What’s not to love?
My first year as a photographer, I jumped at every chance I could get to second shoot weddings and glean any and all info I could. This was my “on the job” training and the experience was priceless. A few weeks ago, I had a I kinda miss second shooting thought and coincidentally, my friend Paul from CeanOne called me to second shoot a wedding with him.
Second shooting allows me to try new shots and ideas without the pressure. It forces me to think outside the box and gives me the freedom to go for shots I don’t always get a chance to do when I am the primary shooter. If you are a photographer, just starting or been in the business for a while, I recommend you go out and second shoot from time to time- just for the fun of it. It keeps things fresh and keeps you fabulous!
