Joan and Chris. Met in 2000 through friends. They IM’ed + talked + hung out. During this time, Joan developed a small (fine…HUGE) crush on Chris. She thought he was super rad. He thought she was super sweet. They kept their thoughts to themselves…
Fast forward to 2007, they found themselves hanging out more frequently and Joan’s crush returned as a full blown LIKE. Luckily, Chris felt the same way. FINALLY.
Chris asked: Want to be my girlfriend?
Joan responded: Yes.
So they began putting miles on their cars. Joan rolled down to Los Alamitos. Chris cruised up to South Pasadena.
After 8 years of friendship + 2 years of dating + 32,204 miles…
They came to a simple realization…that sometimes, when you know, you just know.
Chris got down on one knee and asked: Will you marry me? Joan responded: Yes (twice!).

When you know, you just know…and I KNEW Joan and Chris would be one of my favorite clients to work with. Joan’s attention to detail and her sincerity showed up in all the nooks and crannies of her spectacular wedding day. From the handmade flowers on her dress to the little booklets on the table for guests to write in their favorite places to recommend, Joan thought of each detail with the comfort of her guests in mind.
The incredible Orange County Performing Arts Center was the backdrop for this school themed wedding. What else would you expect from an educator and an engineer?
Joan and Chris, the love you share for each other and your family is palpable. Your wedding was both beautiful and meaningful. I found myself wiping tears from my eyes many times during the evening –both at touching moments and side splitting laughter moments (like Chris’ family dance and the hilarious video). I loved working with you and I am blessed to count you two as friends.

Every little detail:
This made me almost pee my pants I was laughing so hard. It was AWESOME. Chris’ sister and nieces came out and started a choreographed dance to “Single Ladies,” midway, through, they beckon some more family members and continue dancing to some other hip hop type song, and so on and so forth until all of Chris’ 20 or so family members joined in, including the mother of the groom. It was a fully choreographed 10+ minute dance. Amazing!
