for photographers: part three~ breaking up is hard to do

I’ve never experienced a break up. I had one “boyfriend” in high school for 6 days. I broke up with him after he tried to kiss me and I realized I really wasn’t into him at all. Like in an “Ew, gross” kind of way. Then my husband came along.

Even still, I know the agony of a breakup. I’m a TV-aholic and I read voraciously (Time Traveler’s Wife anyone?) I’ve channeled the angst of all the characters of The OC, Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place (the 90′s version), and Gossip Girl. I KNOW my teen soap opera angst, internet. And so, I dug deep and tried to be a conduit of heartache and misery to my models. Here is the final installment of the concept shoot:

Couldn’t decide which I liked better…so I put in both!

And speaking of “The Time Traveler’s Wife” – I fell in love with the movie poster and tried to recreate it. Unfortunately, we were unable to do this till about 111:00 at night and so did not have the proper lighting. Plus, our models were troopers and exhausted. Will try again soon.

the people: the lambourne family ~ laguna beach, ca

I was an only child growing up…until I turned 8 years old. I was always in the limelight of my parents’ basking glow of adoration and then my brother came along…and I had to learn how to share. I never really mastered that etiquette and when I reached adulthood, I forsook that social grace altogether.

So, I cannot even begin to imagine sharing with 4 other siblings. The Lambourne family drove all the way out from Utah so I could take their picture. No seriously, they did. Okay fine, they planned a vacation around it too, but we all know the REAL reason they came out here…

Ranging from 2 months old to eight years old, I could immediately see their individual personalities and the togetherness they shared…and I found a little piece of myself a bit envious, but I still don’t share, so don’t ask.
