One of the most favorite parts of my job is working with amazing people. My brides and grooms, of course, whom are all gorgeous, glamorous and super cute, but I’m also talking about the behind the scenes rockstars that pull a wedding day together and make my job not only easy, but fun as well.

From time to time, these creative people pool their talents and create something marvelous and I get lucky enough to be invited along to document it all. I think I let out a few uber cool squeals of excitement during the day. Serious wedding inspiration. I would never have thought of green caramel apples, burlap, fine china and a ceramic pig as part of a wedding decor, but they did and did it well.

This shoot was featured yesterday on Style Unveiled (another super cool squeal). Go check out the full post over THERE. I’ll just post a teaser or two below.

I’m not a rustic girl…at all. My idea of camping is, well, I don’t have an “idea of camping.” Ever. I just don’t *do* that sort of stuff. I’m a creature of comfort and I like my pillows, my bed, indoor plumbing and I DON’T like dirt. But that’s besides the point.

Anyway, there’s a wedding trend that I’m seeing around the industry and I love, love, love it. It’s burlap. This little material is inexpensive and has a great texture and a feeling of rustic charm, plus it’s eco-chic (which is TOTALLY in right now).

I’ve done a few events and styled shoots with burlap and I am going to credit this new trend to Mary Lallande of Jay’s Catering and Sussanna Davidson of French Buckets. Although it’s now everywhere and seems like the “new” it thing, these two ladies have been using this rough, but charming material since early last year on various styled photo shoots, events and even at a baby shower. In fact, at today’s ultra epic photo shoot, we got to showcase Fusion Linen’s new line of deliciously ruffled burlap table runners and chair covers.

I’ll give you a little sneak peek. (Photo Credit: Mary Lallande)

And as proof, here is one shoot designed by Mary and Sussanna in early 2010 with lots of burlap.

Burlap at a baby shower? Why not?
