That’s how long it took to sell out of this “Cowboy Casanova” themed event. Inspired by the Carrie Underwood video, a group of us made the long drive to Wine Country Temecula to TCR Ranch, who graciously hosted (and served us a cooler full of sodas and beers).

I’m still completely amazed and humbled that people are so excited about the SoCal PhotogShootout group and joining this awesome community of photographers. Our next event is in June and if you haven’t heard of us or what we are about, you can read more about it HERE.

So sorry for those of you that were unable to get tickets. We are looking for other ways to try to get you to an event. One way is the launch of the official Los Angeles Photog Shootout group. Here are the handful of shots I got from the day – too busy micro managing for anything else!

The evening came to an end with amazingly delicious tacos from the Taco Lady.

And Mr. Rob “Ninja” Nicholson, the nationwide Photog Shootout leader spoke about marketing.

I liked looking at all the pictures.

Last year, a number of my friends got their photos published in magazines. Not to be outdone, I made it a goal to be published in a magazine. I wanted to see my name in print and my photo with a crease down the middle. I wanted it BADLY. So badly, I could taste it, especially when another friend brought over her magazine spread, I smiled and moved that goal WAAAAAYYY up on the top of my list. But to no avail. It seemed that I just didn’t really want to put in the work to get published…NOT.JUST.YET.

Then one day, THEY came calling. ieStyle Magazine saw I shoot I did with Bows-N-Berries, where Miso Fly loaned us clothes and wanted to feature it.

And there it was. My name in print and my photos with a crease down the middle.

Now, onto goal #2….

I was much more conservative back then. Now my fashion rule is: GO BIG. One of my goals this year is to have big hair. I’m working with my hairstylist and lots of hair product and backcombing to achieve this. Along with my big hair, I’m wearing big clunky boots AND flashy rings AND chunky necklaces AND  hoop earrings AND at least one hairpiece ALL.AT.THE.SAME.TIME.

So, when my high school friend, Heather contacted me to shoot her headbands and told me she was going to expand her line of kid’s bows and headbands to a couture line for women, I sent her an application to be my new bestie as long as I had a constant supply of new headbands.
