the places: astor classic events center, anaheim (vendor shoot)

Note: So earlier last week, I tweeted, “Nap or Blog? Decisions, decisions.” Unanimously, people commented that I should nap, and so I did and then proceeded to take the whole week off from blogging. It was a nice break. Thanks for indulging me:)

One of the hottest trends in weddings these days is vintage. It’s the new “modern.” From birdcage veils to art deco to lace gloves, brides are looking back to a bygone era for inspiration. If you love the vintage look, your venue will be an important element in pulling off the vintage feel of a wedding day.

A few months ago, I was a part of a vendor shoot at the Astor Classics Museum in Anaheim. I can’t show photos from that shoot yet, but a few weeks after that, I was back in the vintage vibe of Astor to shoot a mock ceremony. What says vintage more than antique cars?!

Our models were the best! Five minutes after meeting, we told them they had to act like they were in love. I think they did a good job, however awkward it was!

the weddings: ember of anaheim (vendor shoot)

It’s public knowledge that I torture models. If you are a follower of my blog, you know that in the last few months, I’ve had models freeze in the desert, be tied to an electric tower, pose in bathing suits in a sandstorm, endure stinging nettle, and rattlesnakes…and the list continues to grow. Last week was no different as I coerced my fabulously attractive models to snuggle up and pose as married couples. I’m a cruel and unyielding slave driver, I know. Send the hate mail if you must…

Seriously though, I am blessed to work with amazing models that will do anything to help me get the shot. We met up at Ember Cafe & Music Club in Anaheim, an eclectic and very rocking place to hold a wedding reception. I had the privilege of working with the following vendors that beautified, made up, dressed up, accessorized and organized this entire event:

Event Coordinator: Lorena Musselman of Palomaya

Bridal Gowns Provided by: Mariposa Boutique

Make-up and Hair: The WOW Factor

Flowers: Diamonds and Pearls Affair

Models: Leilani, Skylar, Adam, Ariana and Vince

I had a very magazine style mindset coming into this shoot, and the feel of this place really lent itself to a fashion-y feel, so lots of the images I’m posting are in black and white which I L.O.V.E.

By the way, Skylar was brought in to babysit one of the model’s baby. We roped her into hair and makeup since one of our other models did not show up. SHe was pretty amazing for her first time!
