Labels. No matter how much we want to shy away from them, it’s a way of life. Collectively, they help us define who we are and separately, they each contain a snippet of a facet of our lives and personalities.

When I first started my photography business, my logo was hanssie trainor: photography. Even back then I knew I could not be contained under one label, hence the colon. (The colon is used before a list or an explanation that is preceded by a clause that can stand by itself) and I knew that photography was just one thing that defined who I was. And now after 3+ years in the business, I’ve evolved and come full circle, back to using the colon to help define who I am – a multi faceted, ever changing person, that wears many hats and has many life experiences.

This blog has always been about my life but with a focus on my photography, but now, there will be a shift to focus more on my journey in the "IN BETWEEN" from my former life as a wife and mother to life as a single gal and single mom living life passionately under my own terms with photography thrown in as well. I'm just a girl trying to figure things out and deal with baggage and confusion in the dating world. I'm putting it all out there --the good, the bad and the ugly. I hope you’ll join me for the ride.

I'm kissing a lot of frogs..and blogging about it.

(P.S. Yes, I am still commissioning for fashion/editorial work and for weddings/ portraits)

Dear Poor Neglected Blog…

It’s been two weeks since I’ve even glanced at you. If you were sitting on a bookshelf, I’ve been moving around you to get to stuff that I needed and now a thin layer of dust is coating your cover.

Unfortunately, with my time being totally eaten up with the new job, the new dog and the new house (as written in the post below), you’re gonna have to hold out a little longer before I can turn my love and attention back to you.

I have grand plans for us. Plans that include more rants, soapboxes, photos and such, like the old days, but for now, those plans have to be put on hold for a little while till I can find the balance in my life to fit you into my schedule.

Until then, I’ll come back and post when I can. Hopefully, not in two week spurts, but soon. I promise.

Back to Being Type A

Well folks, it’s happened. My foray into the Type-B arena has ended. As I longingly look back at the carefree, who gives a sh*t, attitude I’ve had for the last 5 or so years, it was actually just a mild flirtation into the realm of Never Never Land. Some would say, that being my former roommate, that I never left, but he’s so uber Type-B that he’s ALMOST Type-A.

I’m back to managing (i.e. controlling) stuff, which means I’ve ditched the digital checklists and went back to a PAPER PLANNER. Omg. Yes, it has happened. (I have also gone back to paper books and forsaken my Kindle, but that’s another blog post). My new planner is color coded, of course, has stickers and tabs (a dream come true for a Type-A person). I have post its and lists and file folders…and it feels like home. I can already feel my blood pressure on the rise.

I ended up, after extensive research of course, getting the Erin Condren Life Planner after a few people recommended it to me. And they were right, it’s a pretty awesome and adorable planner! It doesn’t really come with the glitter cover, but I screwed up what I wanted on my custom cover and ended up not liking the cover, so I “Hanssie’d” it. It’s a little on the pricier end of planners (well, not really, I used to spend over $100 a year on my Franklin Covey, but if you register on her site, you get a $10 off coupon, making the planner around $40-50 bucks. And if you click this LINK to buy one, I get $10 off my next order too.

Anyway, for the next few weeks or so, I am going to break my blog everyday rule, as you can see I totally missed blogging yesterday too. I’m still gonna aim for once a day, but with the new job, moving and new high blood pressure, I don’t want to overdo it too much. Have a happy weekend!

I love my Erin Condren. It’s been beside me this past year and two months… I’m about to make the switch to my 2014 one. LOVE the gold sparkle cover you picked. I’ve never used a planner so religiously… I’m definitely a paper planner girl.
