When I was in junior high, I had a purple notebook. Within it’s tattered pages, I was writing the next greatest fiction mystery novel of all time. I remember working on it night and day, filling its pages with scribbles and prose that I felt was worthy of, well, fame and fortune, of course. About 10 chapters in, I got bored, forgot about the greatest novel of all time and moved onto another project.
I used to carry around a black Moleskine journal wherever I went. I filled it with my dreams, my fears, my favorite poems, verses and quotes painstakingly in various colored inks and doodles. I adorned the book with stickers, ribbons and other accoutrements. About three fourths of the way through, I stop making the time to write in it and it has sat blank for the last few years.
So, I guess I can’t really say that I have an ongoing passion for writing. I write because I need to for this blog, and other than my 140 character tweets, my prose is limited. So, when Get Married.com asked me to write a “How To” article geared toward brides on getting great engagement photos, I summoned all the powers of the junior high award winning author in me to create something worthy of, well, fame and fortune.
