Distracted (Balboa Park Day Trip)

You’ll usually find me doing stuff. All the time. If I sit still, I get bored. When I’m busy, I feel like I’m accomplishing something. Most of the time I’m multitasking. I’m editing, answering email, checking voicemail, cooking dinner and paying bills at the same time. Then all of a sudden I’ll remember the website I wanted to look up but forgot, or the letter I was supposed to write and ended up doing something else. And all the things I was doing before are left undone or half done. I am easily distracted.

Ever other month, I take a break from the rush of life and spend a day with my friends somewhere around Southern California and take pictures all day. It forces me to see things through my lens a different way, experiment or just walk around and be creative. This month, we walked around Balboa Park in San Diego and the Museum of Photographic Arts. And I was distracted. Instead of relaxing and taking photos, working on replenishing my creative juices, this little face caught my attention.

Michelle Cunningham brought her baby Kaya and I played Auntie all day. I took 5 photos. All of which are in this blog post.

Alright, enough blogging, gotta get back to…well, all of the above mentioned tasks…

Sarah & Mark ~ There’s No Place Like Home

He got his pool room. She got a dog. Dinners on the balcony. Playing cards with a glass of wine. Watching the sun set while idling away on the swing set. Playing video games in the living room. Finding the perfect piece of furniture on their trip to Santa Barbara. Walking their dog, Sophie, around the lake.

Sarah and Mark are going to be moving and so they wanted to document some memories of their first home.

After shooting around their house and the lake, we went to Dos Lagos for some more pictures sans Sophie.
