Fashion Photography with Portable Lighting (OC SmugMug User Group)

Where is it? Outdoor Education Center at Irvine Regional Park 2 Irvine Park Road Orange, CA (It is HARD to find –so follow the signs CAREFULLY) IMPORTANT: Don’t pay the parking fee. Use the gate code. There are 2 keypads by the gate look for the small silver one and enter #0927 … Follow the road till you see the signs to Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center.

When is it? This Thursday Sept. 30th at 6:00 PM -8:30PM

Program Description

Learn Scott Robert’s amazing off camera lighting and glamor posing techniques that has turned him into an international superstar. Scott will teach his simple techniques using available light and portable strobes that will allow the photographer to create amazing images on location and almost anywhere within minutes. See how to shoot in extreme bright sun and in low light situations, how to find the best light. Discover how to maximize shooting time to create a variety of stylized images.

Scott’s glamor portrait techniques not only work for weddings but for any type of portraiture however we will place a heavy emphasis on fashion and glamor photography. There will be also discussions on business skills and how to create an international clientèle, leverage viral marketing and how to get people to rave about you.

Just bouncing around through Faceebook tonignt and saw your stuff. Sorry, but this composition just doesn’t cut it for me.
Cropped 1 x 2 looks like peeping through a key hole. Lighting doesn’t separate dark hair from dark background. Subject leaning too forward presenting larger than life head. Color shift on face.

Just comments for discussion and/or interpretation . . .

The perfect rectangle is 1 x 1.618 if all was always in order. Or, the usual 4 x 5 thing.
