thirst relief mentor auction

I’m rich. Like filthy, stinkin’, people are jealous of me rich and I’m spoiled.

Yes, I see that stack of ginormous bills on my desk. And my furniture has holes in it and my cars are over 7 years old, but I’m rich. Abundantly blessed by all the luxuries I have.

I have a roof over my head that does not leak during freakish Southern California storms.

I have a refrigerator full of  food and a pantry full of snacks that will add to that baby weight I’ve been carrying for 5 years.

I have a closet full of clothes I don’t wear.

I have clean water to drink…

I am so excited to be a part of the Thirst Relief Mentor Auction this year. Thirst Relief is an organization whose mission is to “overcome death and disease resulting from the consumption of contaminated water by providing safe, clean drinking water to those in need around the world.”

Each year, they partner with ShootQ, and ask some amazing photographers to donate some of their time for an auction. People get to bid on their favorite photographers for a one on one 90 minute or so mentoring session and 100% of the proceeds directly benefits Thirst Relief International.

Now I find myself completely honored to be on the auction block and crossing my fingers in the hopes that someone, anyone, bids on me. To sweeten the pot, not only do you get to spend 90 minutes with me (either at WPPI 2010 or in the Orange County(ish) area), and lunch on me,  I’ve included a very rare 2010 Guest Pass to ALL the SoCal PhotogShootout Events for the winner.

So, go digging in those couch cushions and car ashtrays and skip a few Starbucks trips, I know times are hard for all (I’m still ignoring that stack of bills…), but for some who lack even the most basic necessities, it could change their lives. If you can’t bid, you can still help by spreading the word –facebook, twitter, blog, whatever. Just get the word out!

The auction goes live on February 16th and 17th. You can sign up to be notified by clicking HERE.

Please bid on me, so I don’t have to force my mom to…:)
