this week’s obsessions vol.II

1. Petite Sour Hearts – About 10 years ago, one of my favorite candies was discontinued. It was only found at certain gas stations, in those value packs of candy. It was chunks of sour red licorice — and it was licorice flavored. (Nowadays, they make BIZARRO sour licorice with strawberry flavored licorice…NOT.THE.SAME.) And I have thought of them wistfully since. Anyway, last year, I had an “impulse buy moment” and ended up purchasing a box of tiny sour hearts from Henry’s Farmer’s Market. Their were 3 types of hearts in the box and the red hearts were EXACTLY what I had been looking for…for the last TEN YEARS! So, then after waiting an entire year, I bought the biggest box in the store (at $7.99 per lb, that’s saying a lot).

2. Badger’s Certified Organic Lip Balm Lavendar and Orange -I’ve made it no secret that I am obsessed with Chapstick/lip gloss/lip balm, etc. In fact, I just bought two new MAC lip glosses yesterday…wait, don’t tell my husband. Sometimes the stuff they put into makeup is a bit scary, so when I am feeling “healthy” I look up some of the beauty products I use and see how safe it is for me and my family. In my search for safe lip balms, I discovered this site: SKIN DEEP It rates thousands of products based on its ingredients. Not all organic products are safe…which is super scary, but these lip balms are not only safe and non toxic, but smells yummy with a great texture. So I bought four of them. You can get them at Drugstore.com and right now, if you buy 3, you get one free!

3. Fox’s TV show, Glee – I’m unequivocally, unashamedly, undeniably and probably a bunch of other UN words — in love with Glee. I don’t know if it reminds me of my oh-so-cool high school days in the school choir or on the Colorguard team but once I watched 3 episodes I was hooked. I just caught up and now I can’t wait till it comes back in April. I absolutely LOVE Jane Lynch, whose portrayal of the mean Cheerleading coach is so hilariously inappropriate and cruel. A close second is the OCD school counselor –hey, she likes cleanliness –can’t fault a girl for that!

4. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion “Sin” – One of my major vices is Sephora. I can spend HOURS in that store looking at the little pots and jars of make-up. Longer, fuller lashes? Yes, please. Big, pouty lips. Sign me up! Look taller, skinnier and more glamorous ALL in this ONE little spray? Awesome. Well, in one of my previous excursions into the land of promised beauty, I discovered –or actually 3 different sales ladies impressed upon me to try this product. I did and it’s FABULOUS! My eyeshadow and eyeliner DOES NOT MOVE and it’s pretty champagne color blends well with my everyday colors. LOVE IT! (They also have it in Nude –pictured below)

5. Another time waster: Formspring. Apparently, you ca ask people questions and they’ll answer. So, I jumped on the bandwagon and it’s kind of fun. Go ahead, ask me whatever you want by clicking HERE.

I’m a little obsessed with Glee myself. I was recently re-watching the episodes I have on my DVR….. which is all of them!

LOVE those sour hearts! I used to work at a Mercantile, and we sold those LOVED THEM! But like you, haven’t seen them since. And Badger- my sister in Virginia, land of cold and snow, dry skin and chapped lips raved about Badger products! Definitely a WIN!
