the engagements: joan & chris ~ viceroy hotel, santa monica

She thought he was breaking up with her. At the top of the Eiffel Tower of all places.

Of course it wasn’t quite as it seemed. He wasn’t breaking up with her and they weren’t at the real Eiffel Tower.

They were visiting his sister in Las Vegas and they were given some free tickets to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Hotel. All weekend they had debated whether to go or not and he was reluctant,  making excuses, steering her in different directions, finally, grudgingly, agreeing to accompanying her up the elevator to the top. Overlooking the twinkling lights o Las Vegas, he started his speech. He was so serious that she thought, uh-oh, he’s breaking it off, until about halfway through, when he got on his knee and pulled out a ring.

Joan and I became instant friends, sharing  our love of food, God and shopping, which made this day not only fabulous but fun as well.  Chris was a fabulous chauffuer, taking us from one place to the next and smiling the entire time. I am so excited to be a part of Joan and Chris’ wedding day next summer at the incredibly beautiful Orange County Performing Arts Center.

We started their session at the Viceroy Hotel in Sana Monica.

Everywhere went went around the Viceroy, there were these little succulent plants that we kept having to move. We had a love/hate relationship with them.

We then rushed over to the Lab and grabbed some final moments of light.
