my life: things i’m obsessed with…this week.

1. My iPhone: I’ve had the little thing for almost 2 years and it never gets old. Even if it rings and rings and rings and rings. My favorite apps (besides Facebook and EchoFon for Twitter):

  • Words With Friends: It’s Scrabble. It’s “educational.”
  • SushiPedia: So you know exactly what you’re putting in your mouth
  • iTommyCam: It’s a live webcam to see the USC Tommy Trojan statue on campus 24/7. I’m an obsessed stalker. So there.
  • FS5 Hockey: Air Hockey. Enough Said
  • Bump: You just “bump” another iPhone that is opened to that app and you can exchange all your contact info easily

2. Toffee Dip: I had this at Thanksgiving and since then made it twice. Ironically, it’s from the Cooking Light magazine.

  • 3/4 C Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 C Powdered Sugar
  • 8oz Reduced Fat Cream Cheese
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 3/4 Smashed up Skor Candy Bar

Mix the first 4 ingredients together with mixer on medium. Mix in Skor pieces, blend well. Serve with Apple Wedges (or eat with spoon like I do!)

3. Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind:” In high school there were two types of music I refused to listen to. Hip Hop and Country. No that’s all I listen to. Sigh. Love NYC.

4. Dexter – the TV Show – I know I love my TV a bit too much, and to think that I would root for a serial killer…that’s AWESOME writing! And I’m still reeling (two days later) from the shocking season finale! If you haven’t seen it, it’s definitely the best show on TV…but be warned, it’s a Showtime show = NOT PG.

5. Fancy That! Cupcakes: Since today is NATIONAL CUPCAKE DAY, it’s totally appropriate to talk about my obsession with my friend Colette’s delicious (and fabulously presented) cupcakes. She made a few dozen for the shootout in some fun flavors (”Almost a Car Bomb” – think Bailey’s and Guinness) but my favorite is still Oreo. She’s JUST starting her business so no website yet, but if you need a fun, yummy alternative to a cake, email me. I’ll send you her info –and then save me a cupcake…or two.

That Oreo cupcake was the bomb! I just tried to explain it to Heather and it just made me want one so bad!

I also love Dexter. Fantastic writing and acting. I must admit, I scrolled thru the recipe and saw the picture of the cupcake, then I scrolled up hoping it was a recipe for the cupcake! It looks so delicious! I enjoyed your images of objects in the previous post, I’m also glad you got “the cowboy”. I would love to hear his story as well!
