for photographers: december socal photogshootout

Back in high school, I read “The Great Gatsby.” Okay, so I read the Cliff’s Note’s of “The Great Gatsby.” Can’t remember what it was about, or pretty much anything else about it (the cover was black and yellow…haha) but since I passed English and got my diploma, I guess I did fairly well on the test.

When planning this  shootout, our 1 year anniversary shootout, we decided to go back in time since vintage is the new trend these days and Claremont looks like time froze into a quaint little college town. So, we decided to borrow F. Scott Fitzgerald’s book title for our theme.

With new groups popping up all over the place, I wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of interest. When the event sold out in 6 minutes, and I had a chance to pick my mouth up from where it rested somewhere around my super cute Steve Maddens, Matthew Saville and I, along with Garrett Davis and Wai Reyes got to work to create another fabulous PhotogShootout event!

If you are a photographer, and have no idea what the Photog Shootout is, you need to go find us on Facebook!

If you are a client, and am wondering why I keep posting about this thing called Photog Shootout, it’s because my other passion, aside from shooting weddings is educating, networking and providing a place where people can learn and hang out.

If you fit in neither of those categories, well, then thanks for reading my blog for fun!

This could not have been possible without the help of:
THE VENDORS:

THE MODELS:
Tristen, Kevin, Lisa, Alissa, Chelsea, Teran, Becka, Steven, Curtis

I guess dot man’s power of flight were stunted that day. Really like Curtis’ pose in the last shot!

Wow, what an effort and attention to detail! With all the planning you did, do you get enough time to shoot?

I love the couple hand in hand, by the vintage car. I’m bummed I didn’t get to shoot them :( Awesome set, Hanssie!
