the people: barnes family

I came home and told Tim I could see us having 5 kids. I mean, this was one of the most entertaining and boisterous shoots I have done. He said I would have to find a new husband for that to happen. Then the idea of popping out four more kids made me a bit nauseous and that was that.

The Barnes family has a very special place in my heart because, well, in about twenty years, the Barnes’ and the Trainor’s will be one family. (Or so I have decreed, when Mackenzie and their 4 year old son will be married one day–hey, totally could happen. Remember this post?)

Anyway, I met Shannon when I joined my church choir and he was the Pastor of Worship and Communications. I was always mesmerized by his amazing singing voice and amazed at his extraordinary ability to read people. (Okay, actually that ability scared me to death. I work hard to build my walls!) When Shannon left our church, I cried a river, only to meet up again when I joined the Bonner Singers a few months later.

As I was starting in the photography business, I called Shannon, who had started a business consulting firm, to help me, since all I knew about business was, well, okay, so I didn’t know anything.  He pretty much designed a road map for my business.

Christina also has amazing musical abilities as a singer and songwriter. This family actually sings in harmony for fun at the dinner table. I know.

Shannon and Christina have the prodigious task of raising 5 children – 4 of whom are boys! I can only imagine the energy it takes to complete such a feat and still have a sense of humor, cook magnificent dinners and look put together at all times. Yet, Shannon and Christina have managed to do it all and do it well.

Not fair, I can barely manage one.

My ABSOLUTE favorite of the day…and my future son in law :)

A very special thanks to my friend Brooke Miller who assisted me. Here’s one a my favorites from her.
