my life: girl’s night

They have been friends for years and years…and I somehow infiltrated their tight knit circle. Somewhere along the line, I found myself surrounded by  these group of ladies who have quite the aptitude for greatness. By the way, you can read about us in the September issue of Parents Magazine, or by clicking HERE.

There’s Brianne, a mother of two, who I refer to as the Martha Stewart of our group -err…minus the whole insider trading thing. For Chrismas last year, Brianne made each of us a exquisite box of individually wrapped gourmet cookies -all with a toddler and an infant. Brianne sewed us each a doll in our likeness…

Then, there’s Jen. She seems to be talented at everything. Painting, homeschooling, gardening, and now children’s book writing. Jen decided she wanted to sew, bought a sewing machine and is sewing gorgeous dresses for her baby daughter. She just sent her first children’s book off to some publishers, so keep your fingers crossed…

Shannon is the ultimate hostess. She is the one that organizes us and allows us to stay connected by moderating a forum. She is mommy to one toddler and has a baby on the way. Shannon taught everyone how to crochet…

A mother of 4, Christine is the ultimate homeschooling mama. She teaches a women’s Bible study and is an awesome baker. Christine showed her mad scarf crocheting skills at our party…

Amy is currently expecting her second daughter in January. She is great at word games (she has beat me on Facebook scrabble too many times to print without embarassing me!). Amy got us all into juicing and she sewed a fabulous baby blanket…

And finally, there is Kristin of Kristin Rogers Photography.  In the next few months, she will be bringing home a baby from Africa! Kris has been a big help in my photography journey. She brought a new gorgeous sample album by KISS wedding books

The theme of this girl’s night was an art show to showcase one of our talents. I was amazed at what the girl’s brought and created. Of course I am always amazed by these girls. Each month, one of us hostesses a girl’s night. This was my night. Instead of wowing everyone with my cooking skills (of which there are none), I ordered in from Miguel’s and made some yummy desserts. Thanks to Kristin for these pictures!

Brianne, who made all of our dolls!

Just saw these on Kristin’s blog, I thought MAYBE you’d take your own pictures, but nope, gotta steal. Either way it looks like you had fun. As soon as I get a wife and subsequently need her out of my hair, …I know where to send her! =Matt=
